— Right-click the launcher and select "Run as administrator".
  • Check if dboclient.exe exists — Navigate to your game folder and verify dboclient.exe is present. If missing, your antivirus likely quarantined it — restore it and add an exclusion.
  • Reinstall — If nothing works, uninstall and download a fresh copy from dbogalaxy.com.

    If the game crashes immediately or gets stuck on the logo screen:

    1. Install all required libraries — DirectX, Visual C++, .NET Framework (see the "Missing DLL" FAQ).
    2. Run as Administrator — Right-click the launcher → "Run as administrator".
    3. Disable fullscreen optimizations — Right-click dboclient.exe → Properties → Compatibility → Check "Disable fullscreen optimizations".
    4. Try compatibility mode — Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 or 8.
    5. Clean reinstall — Delete the game folder completely and reinstall from scratch.

    Frequent disconnections are usually caused by a system clock mismatch. The game server has a 30-second tolerance window.

    Fix your Windows clock:

    1. Right-click the clock in your taskbar → "Adjust date and time"
    2. Enable "Set time automatically"
    3. Enable "Set time zone automatically"
    4. Click "Sync now" under "Synchronize your clock"

    Other causes:

    • Unstable internet connection — try a wired (ethernet) connection
    • VPN interference — disable any VPN while playing
    • Firewall blocking — ensure the game is allowed through your firewall

    If the installer is not downloading or stuck at 0%:

    1. Run as Administrator — Right-click the installer → "Run as administrator".
    2. Change install path — Don't install in C:\Program Files. Use a different folder like C:\Games\DBO Galaxy or D:\DBO Galaxy.
    3. Disable antivirus temporarily — Some antivirus software blocks the download. Temporarily disable it, run the installer, then re-enable.
    4. Check disk space — Ensure you have at least 5 GB of free space.
    5. Try a different download mirror — Check our Discord server for alternative download links.

    General

    DBO Galaxy has a mandatory secondary password (PIN) system to protect your account.

    How it works:

    • When you log in on a new device for the first time, you'll be asked to either create a secondary password (if you don't have one yet) or enter your existing one.
    • The PIN is a numeric code — it must be created in-game, not on the website or launcher.
    • You can check "Trust this device" to skip entering the PIN on future logins from the same device.
    • Only ONE device can be trusted at a time. Trusting a new device removes the old one.

    How to reset your PIN:

    • You can reset the secondary password through the in-game options, OR
    • Change your primary password in the launcher (this also resets the secondary password). After changing, you'll be asked to create a new PIN when you next log in.

    Why this exists:

    Many players share accounts or reuse credentials from other servers. Some malicious servers may steal credentials. The PIN protects your account even if your main password is compromised — only someone who knows the PIN can access your account on a new device.

    Account registration is done exclusively via the game launcher — there is no website registration.

    Steps:

    1. Download & install the game from dbogalaxy.com (~8GB download, ~20GB installed)
    2. Open the launcher
    3. Click the person icon (top right) to open Account Management
    4. Fill in: Email, Account (username), Password, Confirm Password
    5. Click "Get Verification Code" — the launcher sends a PIN code to your email
    6. Open your email, copy the PIN code (it's a code you type in, NOT a clickable link)
    7. Paste the code into the "Verification Code" field in the launcher
    8. Check the "Register Account" checkbox
    9. Click "Apply"

    Important:

    • ⚠️ Temporary or disposable email addresses are NOT allowed. Only use official email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.). If detected, all accounts on the same IP will be permanently banned.

    DBO Galaxy is the only Dragon Ball Online server fully translated into 8 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. We are always looking for community translators to improve and polish our translations!

    Available Roles:
    • Translator — Review and improve existing translations in your language
    • Translator Reviewer — Same as Translator, plus review and approve/reject submissions from other translators
